www.manualfortheearthawakening.com is the 4th in the series of dj mediafire releases, which are a musical extension of purebecoming.com. It is my goal to bring the concepts explored within purebecoming.com to a new audience through music, mixing texts regarding consciousness & new modalities of thought with music from popular culture and other sources. www.manualfortheearthawakening.com is focused around contemporary narratives of transformation and change in the near future especially in regards to human consciousness and society at large. These range from the burgeoning promises and scientific predictions of genetic engineering, nanotechnology and robotics, to post-newage mystic teachers and theories of an awakening of human consciousness near the end of the Mayan Clendar. Public figures like Bill Joy, the founder of Sun Microsystems and proponent of the Singularity, Darryl Anka, who claims to be channeling “Bashar” an extra-terrestrial being living 300 years in the future, and the late Terrence Mckenna, a philosopher and cultural theorist who coined the concept “Timewave Zero”, at first may not seem to have much in common. However they all present predictions and cultural narratives revolving around similar models of growth based on accelerating returns and have very similar timelines for this predicted transformation. One may be skeptical when faced with these concepts, but real world examples of this are playing out in contemporary society. It’s clear to see the visibly accelerating growth of information technologies, and rapid cultural and political shifts aided by the Internet. These examples are not all encompassing, but rather represent a narrow sampling from a larger body of my research, and help to foreground the types of transformative narratives at play in www.manualfortheearthawakening.com |
